Better Season: A Sweet Display Font for Modern Web Design

Better Season in a Boutique Online Store Header

When I first tested Better Season, I was working on a redesign for a boutique online store that sells handmade candles and skincare products. The goal was to create a warm, inviting brand identity that felt personal and trustworthy. As a display font, Better Season stood out immediately — its friendly, sweet style fit the brand’s tone perfectly. I placed it in the hero section, using it for the main headline over a soft pastel background. It didn’t feel too playful or too serious, which is exactly what the client needed.

I also experimented with Better Season on the product category headers. Since it’s an all caps font, it naturally drew attention without overwhelming the layout. On mobile, it scaled well and remained legible, even when overlaid on a subtle texture image. That made me think of how Better Season could work in other similar contexts, like lifestyle blogs or creative portfolios.

Better Season for a Coaching Website CTA Section

A few weeks later, I used Better Season again — this time on a coaching website focused on wellness and mindfulness. The client wanted their call-to-action (CTA) button to stand out but still feel approachable. I paired Better Season with a clean sans-serif font for the body copy and used it exclusively for the CTA text. The result was a nice contrast between the decorative display font and the more functional typography.

What surprised me was how well Better Season performed on dark backgrounds. I had initially worried about readability, but its natural weight and spacing made it pop nicely against darker tones. This opened up new possibilities for using it in digital ads, social media graphics, or promotional banners where boldness is key.

Better Season on a Course Sales Page Headline

Another project involved a course sales page for a digital marketing training program. The designer wanted the headline to be both professional and engaging. I suggested using Better Season for the main title because of its unique character and modern appeal. It wasn’t too flashy, but it carried enough personality to make the content feel human and relatable.

For the subheadings, I opted for a complementary serif font to maintain visual hierarchy. This combination worked well because Better Season as a display font was reserved for key messages, while the supporting text stayed easy to read. It reminded me of how important it is to use fonts strategically — not just for aesthetics, but for usability and clarity.

Better Season in a Portfolio Homepage Banner

In my own portfolio redesign, I wanted to showcase my work in a way that felt fresh and different. I chose Better Season for the site’s header banner. The all caps format gave the name of the portfolio a strong presence, and the natural style of the font added a touch of creativity that aligned with the overall theme.

I noticed that Better Season worked best when used sparingly. Too much of it could look cluttered, especially on smaller screens. So I limited it to the main headline and used it only in sections where emphasis was needed. This taught me that even though Better Season is versatile, it should be used thoughtfully to avoid diluting the message or confusing the user.

Better Season for a Blog Header and Subheadings

On a recent blog redesign, I explored using Better Season for the article headers. The blog covered topics like web design trends and branding strategies, so the tone needed to be professional yet approachable. Better Season delivered that balance — it felt modern and clean, but still had that sweet, friendly edge that kept the content from feeling too formal.

I paired it with a minimalist sans-serif font for the body text, which helped maintain a clear visual hierarchy. Readers could easily scan through the headings and find the information they needed without distraction. This reinforced the idea that Better Season is a great choice for display fonts that need to be both readable and visually appealing.

Better Season in a Digital Brand Kit

Finally, I used Better Season in a digital brand kit for a new startup. The brand was targeting young professionals who valued creativity and authenticity. Using Better Season in the logo and supporting materials helped establish a consistent visual language that felt both modern and personable.

The font’s versatility allowed it to work across various platforms — from the website to social media posts and email campaigns. I made sure to check the font licensing before finalizing the kit, ensuring that it met the commercial needs of the brand. This experience showed me how important it is to understand the technical details of any font you choose for a project.
